What's Kanjimanji?
Kanjimanji is a quizlike game about Japanese grammar, kanji and sentence structure.
Who is it made for?
This game is made for everyone who wants to learn Japanese grammar, kanji and sentence structure. Because there are a lot of questions about picking the right Kanji, this game may be more suitable for western learners. Japanese language learners from China or Taiwan won't be challenged much by those type of questions because they already know a lot about chinese characters and their meaning.
Is it hard?
It's definitely not too easy. I would say the questions made up to this point are somewhere between JLPT 1 and JLPT 2 level. The furigana should provide some support for inexperienced learners. While it's true to say, that every question should be solvable if only there is enough effort put into the research of the different words, It is also fair to state, that the problems you will find in this game are considerably hard. But who am I to judge; Just give it a try and see for yourself.
How does the score system work?
The score may work a little unintuitive. I felt like long sentences with a lot of kanji should be worth more points than short ones with a lot of hiragana / katakana. Because I already was in control of the pixeldata of all the characters in one sentence I decided, that it would make a reasonable amount of sense if the score would be derived from that pixeldata. The score for one single problem is equal to the total amount of pixels used to display all the characters divided by 100 (and rounded). Getting 30 points for a problem really means that that sentence was made up of approx. 3000 pixels.
How can I report a bug?
This game was built on a PC. It is therefore optimized to the way a PC would handle Text data. Because of the lack of shared Fonts with Apple OS's a lot of text might seem a little out of line. As for linux, I wasn't even able to test the game on a linux machine.
